"Time marches on", the saying goes. So do our lives. Sometimes we get confused about the parts we lived and the parts we lived along side of.

It Marches

I stepped into the shadows
Which darkened the edges of the road.

There, well hidden, I watched
As time marched on...

And grass grew,
And babies were born,
And wars were fought,
And new inventions filled the land,
And men stepped off the earth,
And onto other worlds,

And then...

I Stepped out of the shadows and cried,
"Oh! What a life I have lived!"
